What You Can Do in Microsoft Word

What Inking Lets You Do
Inking lets MS Office users to use a pen or touch in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. When you hover a pen over the screen, inking options show up. The pen can be used to write or highlight with. The thickness of the line can be varied as well as the color.
How to Use Inking
If you have a pen device, using Inking is simple to do. First, tap on the pen icon. You’ll find it on the top toolbar. Next, you’ll notice that inking is on and that you now have options that show up in the command bar.
If you don’t have a pen, you’ll want to tap on the inking icon on the top toolbar. Then tap the arrow to go to Home for menu options. Tap on Draw and then Draw with Mouse or Touch to enable to finger drawing option.
To vary the thickness and colors of your lines, tap on Color when in Inking Mode. Select the color you prefer before tapping on Thickness. Then tap on your preferred weight.
To highlight, tap on the Highlighter icon while in inking mode. Then choose the color that you want to highlight in. If you need to erase something, choose Eraser in inking options to erase drawn objects.
Inking for OneNote
OneNote’s Inking math assistant is pure genius. It helps solve handwritten equations. If the “Math” button is tapped, a pop-up comes up with possible ways to take action to solve the equation. Then steps telling how the answer is possible is displayed after tapping the screen a few more times.
