Method 1: Find a MAC address using the Command Prompt

The first way you can find out the MAC address of a Windows 10 computer is by using the Command Prompt. This utility uses a command based language to tell information, run features, and make changes to your system.

Using it, you can quickly look up the MAC address of any computer running Windows 10. Here’s what you need to do.

Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to bring up the Run utility. Here, type in “cmd” and click on the OK button or simply press Enter.
You should see the Command Prompt pop up on the screen. Type in the following command and press Enter: ipconfig/all
Scroll down in the Command Prompt and look for "Physical Address." You should see an alphanumeric sequence displayed, which is the MAC address of the computer you're using.
You can use your cursor to select the address, then use the Ctrl + C keyboard shortcut to copy it, and paste it into a text document with Ctrl + V.

Method 2: Find a MAC address in the Network Connection Settings

Not comfortable using the Command Prompt, or simply want to use a different method? Don’t worry, there’s another simple way to check the MAC address or any Windows 10 device.

By opening up your Network Connection Settings, you can find the MAC address of your device. All you have to do is look at the details of your network adapter.

Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to launch the Run application. Type in “control” and click on the OK button, or press the Enter key. This is going to open the classic Control Panel.
Change our view mode to Category.
Click on the “View network status and tasks” link found under the Network and Internet group.
Locate and click on the network connection currently active. This is going to open up a new window containing status and other information about the connection.
Click on the Details button found inside the Connection section.
Locate the “Physical Address” row in the Property column. Its assigned Value is the MAC address of the computer you’re currently using, which should be an alphanumeric sequence.
If you select the Physical Address and press Ctrl + C, you’re able to copy the entire Network Connection Details list. Use Ctrl + V in a text document to paste it, then keep the MAC address for easy access in the future.
