How to Perform an
Office 365 Install

When we need a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a presentation program, and we know that Office is still the best option for all three. In recent editions, Microsoft has outdone itself and gone beyond just offering these programs in a single, one-installation form. Now, with Office 365, you no longer have to use the one-time payment, one-installation, one-version format you are used to. You can subscribe to Office for a small monthly or yearly fee and get far more from your Office experience.

First of all, you get all the programs you want and need - all in the latest edition. As soon as Microsoft releases the next version of Office, you get it as part of your subscription with no additional fee. You also get far more features, such as one terabyte of cloud space to make saving and securing your files that much easier. While Office 365 can be a great deal, it’s important that you make sure you download it properly. To do that, you should visit SoftwareKeep, where you can get expert installation assistance. Check to Make Sure Your System Meets Requirements

Before starting the process of looking for an Office 365 suite, make sure your computer is able to meet the system requirements. Office 365 can be installed on either a PC or Mac, but both have to be relatively up-to-date.

For a PC, your computer needs:

  • Processor — 1 GHz or faster
  • Memory — 2 GB RAM or more
  • Hard disk — 3.0 GB of available space or more
  • Display — a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or greater
  • Graphics — DirectX 10

For a Mac, your computer needs:

  • Processor — Intel
  • Memory — 4 GB RAM or more
  • Hard disk — 6.0 GB of available space or more
  • Display — a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 or greater
  • Graphics — DirectX 10

In addition, whether you are on a PC or a Mac, you should be using one of the major browsers, including Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome. If your computer meets all these standards, then you can feel free to choose the Office suite that is right for you.

Choose the Suite that’s Right for You

Office 365 comes in a variety of packages, and it’s important for you to choose the one that fits your needs. It’s also important for your installation that you know which broad category your Office 365 fits into. The two big categories are:

  • Home
  • Business

Under Home editions, you’ll find:

  • Personal
  • Home

Business has a large number of editions that are available depending on the size of your business (either fewer than 300 expected users or more than 300 expected users), and the features you need. In most cases, your business will provide you with Office 365 and will already have your account registered to you.

Some of the more popular business suites for small businesses include:

  • Business
  • Business Premium

Some of the more popular business suites for big businesses include:

  • Professional Plus
  • Enterprise E3
  • Enterprise E5

If you are purchasing a business suite for your business, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the features and costs of each and choose the version that offers the best package for you. All of the above versions offer you the complete suite of Office programs on your desktop, but beyond that, the features and programs can be very different. You can learn more about them at SoftwareKeep.
