How to use YouTube to get affiliate sales
Here's how to use YouTube to get affiliate sales:
1. Make product or service reviews

After making a purchase, most people give their opinion on the product or service to a few friends, maybe their family members, or by simply leaving a review online. However, as a YouTuber, you can turn this into valuable content to boost not only your channel stats but your affiliate sales as well.
First thing’s first, you need to have the product or service in order to make a good, thoughtful, and trustworthy review. This may cost you some money, as you need to go through the process of actually purchasing what you’re endorsing, but this could be considered an investment.
Once you have your product or service, begin endorsing it. Write down your review, highlighting the positives, why your audience should purchase it, and how it helped you personally.
Next, you need to get the footage for your review. If it’s a physical product, make sure to shoot in good quality, preferably 1080p product videos or screen recorded footage of a service. Doing so will get people interested in also making a purchase — this is where your affiliate link comes into play.
Simply mention that you’ve inserted a link in the description to get the product or service. Make sure to add this, along with a disclaimer that this is indeed an affiliate link. This will create a bond with you and your viewers, making them more likely to go through with a purchase.
2. Make tutorial and how-to videos

Millions of people go on YouTube to get help doing things, or see how a product works before they make a purchase. By creating “how to” tutorial videos, you can gather an audience interested in the affiliate products and services you’re promoting.
When you’re making these types of videos, be sure to show your viewers a step-by-step guide on how to do something and include your products or service. For example, if you’re promoting a digital pen, make a video such as “how to draw better on your iPad.” In the video, you’d mention the digital pen and list your affiliate link in the description.
This will get viewers interested in the product, knowing that they too can get the desired result as you if they use your tools.
3. The “Best of” and “Top 10” genre

These videos are easy to produce, but bring in the big bucks. Making a list of the best things in a specific product group or category will allow you to plug multiple affiliate links and potentially make more sales.
All you have to do is collect a number of products, usually somewhere between 5 and 10, and make a list highlighting the pros and cons of each. Start with the least good product to get your viewer’s attention, but leave the best for last to ensure they finish watching your video.
In the end, mention that links to get each product can be found in the description. Format your description the opposite way: make the best, most desirable product on top and make your way down the list in your video.
