Step 1: Open Programs and Features in your Windows Control Panel

  • Windows 10: Click on the search box in the Windows taskbar and type "control panel". Select the Control Panel to open it up. Now select Programs and then Programs and Features
  • Windows 8/8.1: right-click Start in the bottom left of your screen and select Control Panel. Now select Programs and Features
  • Windows 7: Click on Start in the bottom left of your screen and select Control Panel. Now select Programs and then Programs and Features

Step 2: Right-click on the Office product you want to uninstall, and select Uninstall

Step 3: Follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

Using the easy fix tool will remove all existing Microsoft Office applications on your computer. However, it won’t work for stand-alone apps. For these, you’ll need to uninstall it through your Windows Control Panel.

To uninstall Office using the Microsoft Easy Fix Tool, just follow these steps:

Step 1: Download the Tool from the Microsoft website or use this direct download link here. This will download the SetupProd_OffScrub.exe file for the tool

Step 2: Once the download is complete, open it up

  • In Internet Explorer (IE), you’ll see the download at the bottom of your browser window. Depending on your version of IE, just click Run or Open to launch it. If it doesn’t automatically run, then click Save and open it from the location you save the file

Note: if you have any problems running the tool through Internet Explorer, try using another web browser, such as Chrome or Firefox

Step 3: When the Uninstall Microsoft Office wizard launches, click Next and follow the instructions.

Step 4: Once the Tool finishes uninstalling Office, follow the prompt to restart your computer. This allows the changes to take effect and completes the uninstallation process
