The instructions for resetting your Google Chrome settings back to default are the same on all desktop computers, including Windows 10 and Mac operating systems. The guide below helps you restore your settings to default, potentially fixing any issues you might be experiencing with the browser.

  1. Open your Google Chrome browser.
  2. Click on the Customize and control Google Chrome (More) button in the top-right corner of your screen; the icon should look like 3 vertical dots.

  3. Click on the Settings option from the context menu. This will take you to a new tab with all of Google Chrome’s settings displayed.
    Tip: You can also enter chrome://settings/ into your address bar to navigate to the dedicated settings page.

  4. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page until you see the Advanced button. Click on it to reveal more options.
  5. Continue scrolling down until you reach the Reset and clean up section. Here, click on Restore settings to their original defaults.
